David has over 25 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering and design of process control systems and low voltage power distribution for industrial manufacturing facilities. His expertise includes the design and development of one-line drawings, PLC I/O elementary drawings and control schematics, control panel layout and connection drawings, electrical equipment layout and conduit / cable plans and the development of electrical construction and installation scopes and specifications. David has successfully designed and managed hundreds of electrical and controls projects for multiple repeat fortune 100 clients. These include over 400 projects for PPG Fiberglass worldwide, over 50 projects for Philip Morris, USA, over 20 projects for Firestone Building products and over 10 projects for 3M polyester films. He has experience the fiberglass manufacturing industry, the polyester films industry, the specialty chemicals industry, and the foods and tobacco industry.


PPG Fiberglass (Lexington & Shelby, NC; Chester, SC), Project Manager and Lead Electrical Project Engineer; Successfully designed, managed and completed over 400 large and small capital projects for fiberglass furnace rebuilds and process control system upgrades over a continuing 15+ year relationship period. Projects involved furnace control system replacement and upgrades and replacement of existing bushing and winder control systems with latest technology Allen-Bradley PLC control systems and Wonderware HMI’s. Responsible for field investigation of all electrical and controls equipment and devices to determine current as-built status prior to commencement of design.

Firestone Building Products (Wellford, SC & Las Vegas, NV) Project Manager and Lead Electrical Project Engineer; Successfully designed, managed and completed multiple web line control systems upgrade projects for TPO roofing manufacturing lines. Designed electrical utility infrastructure and PLC control system for new, grass-roots TPO roofing material manufacturing process facility. Provided electrical wiring and control system check-out, validation, start-up and commissioning support and supervision.

3M Polyester Films (Greenville, SC) Lead Electrical Project Engineer; Successfully designed, managed and coordinated the installation and start-up of multiple process control system replacements. Projects included a polyester chip handling and drying control system replacement project and multiple film line coordinated VF drive control system replacement and upgrade projects. Projects involved replacement of existing DEC DPM computers and Reliance Automate drive systems with multiple Allen Bradley PLC 5/80C processors, Allen Bradley 1336T Force vector drives and Wonderware HMI’s. Projects were designed, coordinated and installed in multiple short downtime windows where the new systems must temporarily interact and operate with the old systems in phased installations to keep the line running until the entire drive and control system replacement was completed

Philip Morris, USA (Concord, NC & Richmond, VA) Lead Electrical Project Engineer; Lead Departmental Project Engineer on multiple projects responsible for overall project design as well as supervising the design tasks of up to 15 other engineers and designers. Designed electrical upgrade of Cut Filler area from a hardwired, manual system to fully automated 5000 I/O point Allen Bradley PLC 5/250 & Wonderware HMI controlled system.
